Westover Green Community School and Autism Centre

Autism Centre

Academic Year 2024 - 2025

Welcome to Westover Green Community School and Autism Centre.

Placements are allocated by the Local Authority through the annual review process. We are only able to welcome visitors to the autism centre during after school hours in order to maintain a safe and calm environment for our learners.

The centre can cater for 14 children and has two classrooms, a sensory room, movement room, outdoor sensory garden and a kitchen area.

Children in the Autism Centre can access the mainstream classes for appropriate lessons but also receive specialised support in an appropriate setting.

Children are split broadly into EYFS / Key Stage 1 - Oak Class led by Mrs Rose Webb who is the base's lead teacher as well as qualified Thrive trainer and practitioner. Key Stage 2 - Ash Class is led by Mr S Gilborson who has over five years of specialist teaching experience. Teachers work closely with the fantastic team of Mrs Costick, Miss Foster, Mrs Hawkins, Mrs Western, Mrs Rason, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Vernon across the setting and according to pupil need.
