School Uniform

We believe that school uniform is important because it:

  • Makes children ambassadors for the school in the local community
  • Fosters a sense of belonging and teamwork
  • Promotes a stronger focus on learning and behaviour
  • Reduces comparison to others and peer pressure
  • Promotes safety whilst in and outside the school environment
  • Encourages pride in personal appearance
  • Provides good value for money for parents

We ask that all children wear the uniform and we encourage them to maintain a good standard of clean and tidy dress in school.

Our school uniform is as follows

All uniform branded with the Westover Green logo is optional.

Standard uniform

  • White or bottle green polo shirt
  • Bottle green sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan
  • Grey or black skirt, pinafore dress or trousers (no leggings)
  • Plain sensible, black school shoes or plain black trainers (no heels)
  • Waterproof coat

Jewellery

  • Children must not wear jewellery to school for Health and Safety reasons. If earrings are worn, they should be of the stud type and one only worn in each ear.
  • Earrings must be removed or covered with tape on days children will be undertaking PE lessons.

Hairstyles

Hairstyles should be appropriate for school and be of one natural colour. The school does not permit children to have haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children. Impractical or extreme haircuts are not permitted. Long hair should be tied back for health and safety reasons. Hair accessories such as slides, ribbons, bobbles etc. should be of a simple design in bottle green or black.
