Home learning

There are many ways you can support your child with their learning at home.

Every child has a library book to share with you at home.

We also send home a 'Little Wandle' phonics reading book every week. This is a book they have read at school with the teacher during the week and should be able to read to you independently. We expect children to be reading at home at least five times every week. We have a, 'Read a Rainbow' challenge to encourage children to read at home. Please click on the link to find out more.

We send home a 'take home' poem or rhyme or song to practise each week.

We send home phonics practise sheets weekly. This will contain all of the sounds your child has been learning during the week. Please practise the sounds daily ready for our review lesson on a Friday.

Handwriting sheets are sent home so that children can practise letter formation.

We sometimes send home other home learning materials or ask for children to bring in objects or photos relating to our topics .... please check our noticeboard and your child's book bag daily.
