Homework
The children are expected and strongly encouraged to complete the following homework:
Reading
Read for at least 20 minutes at home 5 times a week and ask an adult to sign their reading record. Children are awarded reading points for reading at home and at the end of each half term these are counted up and reading prizes are given out to the top readers!
Spellings
Children will be given weekly or termly spellings that they will be learning and practising at school and will be encouraged to practise these at home to further embed this learning. The children could take part in the below fun activities to help them learn these words. The words for this half term are also below.
Times tables/fluency
Children are expected to login to Times Tables rockstars (https://ttrockstars.com/) weekly to practice their times tables and division facts. Children will then be tested on these in school alongside the 55 Club where children practice their number facts. The children’s logins and passwords for Times Tables Rockstars are in their reading records. National expectations are that children are secure in their times tables up to 12x12 by the end of year 4.

Trip to exmoor Tuesday 1st october
What an AMAZING day we had on Exmoor! There were SO many wow moments - I wish you could have all seen and heard the children as they reached the brow of the 2 hills we climbed and excitedly saw and ran round the ruins and a huge tower. It was just magical. We learnt a huge amount about Exmoor, our local national park, and the knowledge of our 2 park rangers was priceless. We then went to Dunster beach and the shouts of utter joy as they found a shell/a piece of seaweed was beautiful to observe and you needed ear defenders when they found crabs!
